Abstract

We’re passionate about opera as an art form – and want it to still matter in the 21st century!

Integrate Solutions

We’re offering integrate solutions in ConcertOpera for YOUR symphony orchestra – and fully-staged productions in YOUR opera house.

As well as providing performers and produce at YOUR venue.

Live & Digital

Combining the live in-person audience experience with a complete digital one: before, after or instead of a live performance.

For YOUR institution we’re providing a carefree package.

Inventive Programs

Creating tailor-made shows for YOUR hall with pasticcios from different operas under a new (local) plot.

Marketing Tools

provision of digital marketing tools from image film
to the complete multi camera taping/recording

Production Process

smooth, well-organized rehearsal process. Production period for ConcertOpera almost the same as usually budgeted for a symphony concert; 1-2 weeks shorter than usual (fully staged)

Optimized Operations

Comprehensive

our product comprises ALL aspects of opera that normally are shared between different players: marketing, media, dramaturgy, artistic divisions

Well-being and fitness

To ensure the vocal and physical well-being of the singers, we are designing rehearsal schedules in a way to make available all vocal and physical strength in the performance, not before. In addition to this, we bring a trainer for body movement whose work will give the singers a better feel for stage presence (and reduce rehearsal time needed)

Craftsmanship

all of us have learned the skills for our respective field the ‘real’ way/from the bottom up. Our preparation and rehearsal work is structured accordingly

Consensus

We have established quick decision-making processes and modi to resolve internal differences off/away from the rehearsal and other collaborators involved.

Mental well-being

We strive to establish a co-operative rehearsal spirit, governed by fairness and flat hierarchies. The artistic team’s principle of consensus eliminates power struggles on the rehearsal stage (with its stressful consequences for everybody).

Interlocking

We conceive the narration on stage from the musical dramaturgy of the score and not despite it – because it is the orchestra most of the time conveying the ‘true’ emotion of the character, its commentary structured by changes of mood and tempo, pauses and breaths taken.

Efficiency

We prepare and structure the process beforehand, optimizing it for shorter rehearsal period overall and make provisions for calculable difficulties. We always communicate with the different departments of the host institution with one voice and ample time to find solutions.

Relevance

We produce for YOUR audience and want YOUR institution to be the TALK OF THE TOWN!

Visual approach

The opera stage will never compete with the sheer force of screen or display. But a live performance has its own - century-tested - tool kit for the MAGICAL and IMAGINATIVE.

We receive essential stimuli from movie and series and want to MEET the audience in its world of media experience.

Our first duty is good STORY TELLING.

Each VISUAL MOMENT on stage will be an image composed by artistic will, underwritten by a DIRECTION OF PHOTOGRAPHY.

We allow BEAUTY to govern the stage, enchanting the viewer with VISUAL IMAGINATION.

Opera is about POWERFUL EMOTIONS. We know that the intensity can OVERWHELM the viewers: therefore we are consciously guiding the audience through the emotional landscape.

Show Types

Lyrical Adventure

Opera+Netflix: a perfect match!

Inspired by plot development and story-telling of the streamed series –
our Lyrical Adventures are an innovative format to actively draw the audience into an operatic plot driving towards its climax. First guided along by a presenter, the narrative accelerates into a one-act opera with a dense sequence of acted dialogues, melodrama and excerpts from 19th century masterpieces: creating the magic of opera.

ConcertOpera

We transform YOUR concert into a DREAM FACTORY!

From the blockbuster repertoire we have selected operas like Hänsel und Gretel or Tosca which are easily adaptable to any concert hall, making use of not only the main stage but also of galleries and balconies.
With a few props, costumes, lighting and video art YOUR audience can experience the magic of opera.

Radio Opera/Television Opera

Operas specifically composed for Radio (since the 1920s) and Television (since the 1950) have fallen into obscurity. Yet they offer an interesting outline with a strong focus on the singing voice and a very concise narration that is easy to follow, especially for listeners unfamiliar with the genre. La La Opera is excited to revive some of the MASTERWORKS of this OVERLOOKED GENRE, be it in a concert hall with orchestra and singers or in a theater venue, semi-staged or fully-staged.

Repertory Opera

We also do fully staged operas in our signature all inclusive production package.
Having a soft spot both the for GERMAN BUFFA of the mid-19th Century (Lortzing, Nicolai, Flotow) and the jazzy 1920s BERLIN OPERETTA (e.g. Abraham, Benatzky, Künneke, Spoliansky), we’d love to adapt these gems for your organization, letting them shine again for YOUR audience.
